Worshiping Together

Written by

We know that worship is more than meeting together on Sunday mornings.  Scripture tells us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1), meaning that we are to yield ourselves continually to God’s commands and instructions, even if they are costly – “This is your spiritual worship.”  Obedience is worship.  Scripture tells us that our behaviors are to make much of Jesus:  “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus” (Colossians 3:17).  How we live is to be worship. Scripture tells us that “To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good” (1 Corinthians 12:7), meaning we all have been given spiritual gifts in order to build each other up.  Serving others is worship.  Scripture says, “All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation …Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us” (2nd Corinthians 5:16,18).  Sharing the gospel is a ministry of worship. So my point is that worship is much more than going to church on Sunday mornings.

But I miss worshipping the Lord together with you.  I miss singing.  I miss the laughter in the hallways.  I miss the weekly family reunion.  I miss sharing life together.  I miss preaching to the church.  I miss having the church eat and drink at the Lord’s table.  I know that you miss the Body of Christ too.  Worship Meetings as special because the saints are gathered together before Jesus and when his name is corporately lifted up and celebrated, we experience peace and love and the transcendent sense of being home.  We feel like we meet with God and our Family of Faith and we leave changed.  We miss it.

We will come together again!  We will get to go to church again!  I want to encourage you to patiently endure.  The church is a priceless gift and we are so blessed to be part of the family of faith.  May we never look at worship services as a burden again!  May we never say again that we “have” to go to church!

Until then, what does the Lord call us to?  Worship!  Keep worshiping by assembling together in small groups.  Keep worshiping by serving one another.  Keep praying, staying close to God, bringing petitions and intercessions before the throne of grace.  Keep worshiping by reading and applying the Word.  Keep the commands of Christ.  Keep sharing the news that Jesus has overcome death and that there is eternal safety and new life found in Him.  Decide to be a worshiper regardless of the circumstances surrounding you!

Our plan at this time is to resume worship services on Sunday, June 7 at 9:00 and 10:45 am.  Please be praying for churches to reopen. There are some churches that are opened for worship and their experience hasn’t been that good, because there were so many restrictions present. What I’m praying for is that there will be a minimum level of protocols required.  Whatever the case, when the Lord opens the doors (Hallelujah!) we will clearly communicate what to expect when you come to worship.  In the meantime please continue to seek out community in small groups and Bible studies.

Camp Update Video:

On Sunday, May 31 at 11:00 a.m. we will have a special time of gathering here at the church campus and launching the building project. We will safely gather as a large group on the site to sing together and to pray together before our great God.  We will be lifting up the work to him and asking him to bless it and be glorified through it.

Getting the utilities turned off at the Reign Building has been a challenge!  As I said last week, the delay has allowed for more materials to be reclaimed, so we’re thankful for that.  But the Reign Building will be removed completely next week.  Dirt work (preparing the ground for the new structure) will begin Monday, June 1st.  If you want to learn more about what we are planning and why we are building, please go to  If you want to make a financial contribution to the project you can go to our website where you can contribute securely.

Pastor Bo, Pastor Greg and I sat down and recorded a Podcast on “Practical Parenting.”  Go to our website and look under the resources tab for the teaching podcasts, or you can access them through the Living Water App.
