Dear Church Family and FriendsWritten by Jeron Parkins
Dear Church Family and Friends,
We’ve been able to serve a lot of people in our buildings this summer. I’m so grateful! From a Funeral on Monday, to this week’s recitals by the Sandie Wehe Music Studios to starting a Saturday night service in July, to a Movie Night by the Family Team to last week’s Global Leadership Summit to Vacation Bible School in late July to Eagle Lake Camp in early July to various ministries such as Reign Youth Group and Community Groups and Bible Studies it really hasn’t seemed all that different from other summers. Obviously being one building down (we saw the Reign Building be dismantled in June along with the playground) we’ve had to be more flexible, but things have worked out! Whew! Lots of people have made this all possible. Thank you Jordan Curtis and team (Eagle Lake), Harley Kincannon and team (VBS) for stepping out in faith and having excellent outreach ministries for children! Thanks Cliff and Cari for making it possible for the youth group to meet over the summer. I especially want to thank Kenny and Rose Bertin for going the extra mile in working with and around all these ministries, both in tech and cleaning – your efforts have been noticed! Also Pastor Luke and the worship team have had to adjust a lot (and clear the stage a lot) to make things happen – thank you!
As we go into the Fall, let’s pray for God’s grace to be on our church. May we be a like a shining city on the hill for Christ! Would you please pray for all the ministries re-launching this Fall? And if you are looking for a place to serve, here’s a partial list of ministries you can pray for or possibly help with: Community Groups. Project Growing Hope. Homeschooling Groups. Mothers of Preschoolers. Anchored College Ministry. Waves Bible Quizzing. Tidal Waves Bible Study. Reign Youth Group. Sunday Morning Children’s Ministry. Women’s Ministry Team. Family Team. Wednesday in the Word. Men’s Prayer Breakfast. Safety Team. Projection Team. Video Team. Sound Team.
New Building Construction is coming along great! We will start to see some big changes soon as the floor will be poured and the building will actually start to be erected. What a great tool this will be for making much of Jesus and blessing our community! Please continue to pray for the workers safety, for the work to be completed on time and under budget. Please be praying for God to provide the finances needed over the coming years – even that we could be at place of being debt free! Up to this point, by God’s grace, we are right on target in our fundraising goals and to meet our year one fundraising goal we are praying for $60,000 to be pledged or given over the next three months. Please continue to pray for this endeavor! We have informational folders in the lobby or you can visit https://www.bringinglifeproject.org/
Here’s some of the things that are happening at Living Water in the near future…
WOMENS MINISTRY TEAM will meet on Sunday, August 30th at Carrol Park at 12:15 p.m. (weather permitting). Geri Fleming is the new Ministry Team Director. Please contact her if you are able to come or are interested in serving with the Women’s Ministry Team this Fall.
As we move into busier fall schedules and more ministries becoming active, it is important that everyone please check with the office (589-6351) before using the Sprung Building, Cross Building, Kitchen, Fellowship Hall or Sanctuary. Please make sure you put your event or ministry on the calendar. We want our buildings to be maximized for ministry but we don’t want any double bookings or misunderstandings, so please make sure you have a space reserved before you use it. Additionally it is very important that after you use the space that you leave the room clean for the next ministry. Our cleaning staff will be working hard to ensure clean rooms and spaces but we need everyone to help. If you need guidelines or a list of cleaning responsibilities they will be available through the office. Thanks!
Please pray for the SLV as schools are reopening and teachers, administrators and parents are trying to make it happen. May everyone be given an extra measure of patience and strength in the days ahead. Let’s pray, and pray and pray some more for things to go as well as possible this Fall in relation to the kids and their education. But let’s especially pray for a special time in our valley’s history to arise in the near future when many people will come to Christ. May there be a revival of the Christians and may there be a harvest among the lost!
