BUILDING COMMITMENT CEREMONY This Sunday at 10:30 a.m.

Prayer Time!  With the onset of Covid-19 restrictions earlier this summer we never got the chance to have a “breaking-ground” ceremony for the new building.  Join us between worship services on Sunday, September 6 at 10:30 a.m. for a time of prayer on the site of the new Christian Education & Community Building. If you have questions on the project please visit https://www.bringinglifeproject.org/

MARRIAGE NIGHT

Living Water’s Family Team invites all married couples to participate in this virtual event!  What would be great is if you could host a couple or two (or three!) in your house.  Go to MarriageNight.org and buy an In-Home Ticket for $30.  Perhaps use this event to launch a Marriage Group and do a 4 or 6 week study on how to strengthen or develop healthy marriages.  Contact Pastor Bo if you want to get started with a group (719-529-1204 or This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.).

LOST AND FOUND

Are you looking for your kid’s jacket or maybe you wondered where you left your Bible?  We’ve got a lot of stuff piling up in our lobby that needs to get back home!  Please check the coat rack in the outer lobby for missing items.

BUILDING USE

As we move into busier fall schedules and more ministries becoming active, it is important that everyone please check with the office (589-6351) before using the Sprung Building, Cross Building, Kitchen, Fellowship Hall or Sanctuary.  Please make sure you put your event or ministry on the calendar.  We want our buildings to be maximized for ministry but we don’t want any double bookings or misunderstandings, so please make sure you have a space reserved before you use it.  Additionally it is very important that after you use the space that you leave the room clean for the next ministry.  Our cleaning staff will be working hard to ensure clean rooms and spaces but we need everyone to help.  If you need guidelines or a list of cleaning responsibilities they will be available through the office. Thanks!

SAFETY TEAM RECRUITMENT

For several years now we’ve had a Safety Team at Living Water.  We’re currently seeking new members.  While calling us to trust in God for our security and welfare, the Bible shares several instances where the people of God acted wisely by taking precautions in a fallen world. For instance, In 1st Chronicles, chapter 9, the Bible records the responsibilities of the gatekeepers of the house of God. They were trusted officials and guarded the rooms, treasures and the gates. The purpose of the LWBF Safety Team ministry is to allow our church family the freedom and safety to focus on learning about God, experiencing God, and worshipping God. The Safety Team will provide trained assistance to keep our church family safe in the event of medical emergencies, fire emergencies, necessary evacuations or lock-downs, intruders, or other disturbances. If this is something that you are interested in, please contact Randy Atkinson at 588-2809.

FALL BIBLE READING

Are you in the Word?  Is the Word in you?  With the month of September arriving this Tuesday, it’s a great time to start a new Bible reading Fall goal!  If you want to download a plan check out https://www.bible.com/reading-plans or if you want to explore different plans here are some websites I’d recommend:  https://www.navigators.org/resource/bible-reading-plans/ or https://www.biblestudytools.com/bible-reading-plan/chronological-new-testament.html

HOW ARE YOU DOING?

While many people still have jobs and are doing ok financially, maybe you are in a place where you are struggling to make ends meet?  We do have a Benevolent Fund here at Living Water that is meant to be a help to you if your situation gets unmanageable.  Feel free to contact the Deacons This email address is being protected from spambots. TITHES AND OFFERINGS

Thanks everyone for continuing to give faithfully to our general budget so that we can continue to do ministry and be on mission.  We’re on track to meet our 2020/21 budget goals!  If you are out of rhythm with not being able to bring your gifts to a worship service, you can easily give electronically through our website (www.livingwateralamosa.org) or by texting GIVE to 719-298-3401.  Don’t forget to save the number in your phone as LWBF GIVING.  You can always text EDIT to update your information, set up a recurring gift, and check the status of a gift.  You can also drive by the church and drop your check in the church mailbox, or send your donation to Living Water Bible Fellowship 2910 Clark Street Alamosa, CO 81101.

MATH TUTORING AVAILABLE

Sharon Furukawa is a retired math teacher who taught in Valley schools for 27 years.  In an effort to help parents and students who may be struggling in math, she is offering math tutoring on Tuesdays, 4:00- 5:30 pm, at the Alamosa Presbyterian Church, 330 San Juan.  All ages are welcome and it is free of charge.  Masks are required for everyone, we will set up for social distancing and have a bleach solution to clean tables, chairs and door handles before and after each student.  Each student should bring their own pencils, paper, assignment and/or laptop/tablet.

MOVING HELP NEEDED

One of our church members is moving back to Alamosa and is looking for some help.  Chris Creech is a long term pastor and missionary and has recently sold his house in Fairplay, CO and purchased a house in Alamosa.  He served as an interim pastor at Living Water around 2002-2003 and was a timely blessing to our congregation.  He can’t do the work himself and his wife Faith is recovering from hip surgery.  He is willing to pay for people to come to Fairplay and bring their stuff to Alamosa.  He is looking at a mid to late October moving time frame.  If interested please call Chris at 719-836-7038

SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICES 9:00 & 10:45 a.m.

We continue our Acts sermon series this Sunday.  We want to encourage you to wear a mask (we’ll have some on hand if you forget yours), and ask that you refrain from physical contact and keep some distance from others.  If you are sick please stay home and join us via the live stream of the service.  Children’s Ministry and Nursery start Sunday, September 13!

SATURDAY MASK ONLY WORSHIP SERVICE 6:00 p.m.

We continue our Acts sermon series this Saturday.  Since May we’ve really been missing a good section of our church on Sunday mornings who really want to be with the Lord and church in person, but because they are vulnerable to the virus can’t participate freely in a setting where lots of people aren’t wearing masks. So Saturday night services are Mask Only.

Thanks for reading!
