How to Get Involved

Attend Worship Services Regularly

Worshiping with our local family of faith is the place to start if you want to get involved. Regular worship attendance helps you understand our mission and calling and will help you grasp Living Water’s beliefs and values. Over the months and years, your consistent worship attendance will have a positive cumulative effect on your relationship with God and your outlook on life. Join a Community Group

Community Groups are smaller gatherings of people where you can be known and cared for. Joining a Community Group is a key commitment, which not only gets you involved with other believers, but will also help you grow stronger in your relationship with the Lord and in your understanding of the Bible. Fill out a Connection Card at a Worship Service to indicate your interest or go to our Community Group page.

Participate in a program or ministry

Living Water has various age-appropriate or life stage gatherings where you can connect with people who are dealing with some of the same issues you are. Mothers of Preschoolers, Reign Youth Group, College Ministry, Men, Women, and Senior Saints all have periodic meetings and activities that you can participate in. We also have classes on Sunday mornings and Wednesdays where you can connect with people who are interested in the same topics as you are.

Serve/Volunteer in a Ministry

Being a part of a Ministry Team is a great way to get involved in the life of Living Water. Your service in the name of Jesus not only makes a positive difference in people’s lives, but it connects you with other people in the body of Christ. We have a lot of different ways and places you can serve the Lord (Ministries). Check out our Ministry Opportunity Board for current volunteer opportunities. Find ministries that best fit how God has wired you by participating in our Ministry Match process.

Become a Member

Membership in a church is about making a public commitment (a covenant) to serve and love others in your church family. Church Membership makes you more accountable to the observance of the commandments of Christ; it is a good thing to have people encouraging you in your walk with Jesus. At Living Water our members are also our key decision making body. There are three steps in becoming a member at Living Water:

  • Express your desire for membership to the Pastors and Elders- you can do this be getting contacting the church office at 719-589-6351 or at office@livingwateralamosa.org.

  • Meet with the Elders- One of the Pastors will set up a meeting with you and two of the elders so that they can affirm your belief in Jesus and get to know you. These meetings usually last for 30 minutes and take place on Sunday’s between services.

  • Attend the New Members Class- This is a class that covers the history of Living Water, what we believe as a church, a biblical view of church membership and the commitments you make as a member. We hold these classes three times a year in the spring, summer and fall.

Parental Guidelines

To ensure the quality and safety of our church nursery and toddler rooms, we ask parents to follow these guidelines:

  • Please make sure to fill out and return the enclosed information sheet on your child. This information ensures the safety of your child.

  • For the health and safety of all children, nursery staff and the peace of mind of our children’s parents, children that have had the following symptoms within the last 24 hours will not be accepted:

    • Fever higher that 100 degrees

    • Diarrhea

    • Vomiting

    • Yeast Infection, monilia, thrush

    • Impetigo (infected wounds), boils, untreated ringworms

    • Runny nose with green or yellow mucus discharge

  • Please take children that are potty training to the restroom before you drop them off in the room.

  • Please make sure your child has a fresh diaper before leaving them in the room. We will be limiting changing diapers. In the rare event that your child “dirties” his/her diaper during the service, a paid worker will change your child. If you prefer to change your own child’s diaper, please request that we page you.

  • If your baby will require to be fed, please have a bottle already made. Due to food allergies, snacks will no longer be provided in the toddler nursery. If your child stays in the nursery for both services please bring them for a snack during the fellowship time in between services.

  • We encourage you to leave any special items your child may need to feel more comfortable. (i.e. blanket, pacifier, doll, toy, etc.)

If your child uses the nursery/toddler room regularly, please consider volunteering your time.

If you have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please contact Melissa Haddican at 510-299-1113. You may also e-mail us at childcare@livingwateralamosa.org

Your child/children are truly a blessing to Living Water and we love them very much! Thank you for allowing us to care for them!
